Ballin’ on a Budget: Charleston’s Daily Deals

October 31, 2017

Charleston is known for its’ rich culinary and entertainment atmosphere— but as a college student it can be a tough scale to balance, for your wallet at least.

While living in Charleston, for what is now going on four years, I have learned some of the ins and outs.  I could easily designate each day of the week to a different eats-location or activity to partake in—at an affordable cost.

The guide below is one way (amongst many) to do so:

Start your week off the right way and head to Rutledge Cab Company downtown for $5 burgers. The deal lasts all day and all night!

The second day of the week can often be a little discouraging with a seemingly long way until the weekend. Don't let that stop you from enjoying the week one day at a time, though—head toCinnebarre in Mount Pleasant for a $6 movie ticket or to The Alley downtown for $2 bowling from 9 until close.

Hump day is a great way to reward yourself with half off sushi-rolls and bottles of sake from O-kuand/or $3 off specialty drinks.

Don’t limit yourself to just Wednesday, Oku offers this deal Monday and Friday as well!

Tex-Mex Thursday is one of the delicious daily deals that Sixty Bull Street Cafe offers. Specials include a variety of $3.50 tacos and $9 burritos.

The weekend has finally arrived and there is no more satisfying way to celebrate than heading toRarebit from 4 PM- 7 PM for $6 Moscow Mules. The. Best. Of. The. Best.

If you can't make it Friday, don’t panic because they offer these marvelous Moscow Mules on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s, too!

Plan to start your day at LEON’S Poultry & Oyster Shop where every day they offer a $39 deal that is prefect for a group of 3-5 people. This deal includes a whole fried chicken that is accompanied with 2 hush puppies, whole grain ‘spoon’ salad, brussel sprouts, and black eyed pea salad.

Very affordable when split amongst the group!

Close out your weekend with a little revitalization at HōM downtown brought to you by BLT Bloody Mary’s and $4 mimosas. This deal lasts from 10:30 AM-2:30 PM so “no money” and late-sleepers are no excuse!

College student or not, everyone loves a great deal!

Figure out the best way to navigate your week by learning the affordable in’s and out’s of Charleston!
